  Dad blames School for everything that has changed about my interests?

  Is it right for my Dad to blame all the changes that has happened to me on School? Like, changes, as in things i like to do, the things i wear, favorite things, what i'm interested in and all that stuff? He blames School on EVERYTHING that changes about me. Like, i used to like Pink and Purple. But now i like Blue/Neon Green and he gets mad since i changed. It's only 2 colors i don't like any more...Why are my parents getting so upset about little things that change about myself? Everyone changes whether in School or not. So...is it just because they think i'm growing up to fast and it feel's like they're missing to much?

  Just explain to him you are growing up and your interests are changing and it has little to do with you going to school. You are exploring life and becoming a young woman and nothing can truly stop that no matter what your parents do or say. If you are the oldest then they may just not be ready for it. If you are the youngest they may think you are growing up to fast.

  So if you're in school and you meet people and learn things, of course you are going to change some. Would he prefer you didn't go to school? Not a lot of options here for him. Besides, you would have changes to your likes and dislikes either way. I don't know how old you are, but maybe he is just having a hard time realizing you're growing up. It's hard for us when things change sometimes, but it's hard for our parents too. I have to remind myself they're people, not perfect, even though they act like it sometimes.

  As far as I can remember, my parents and step-parents have been my biggest influences on everything I do. The only thing school changed with me was my clothing style. Just turn it around and say that they have an influence on you that they are not aware of.
